Matanot Laevyonim
It is a custom to give tzedakah on Purim to help people in need. Donate here.
Machatzit HaShekel
One of the laws of Purim is to donate half a shekel for each person in your family in commemoration of the coin offered for the upkeep of the Temple in Jerusalem. Today it is used for the upkeep of our temple- CSAIR. Donate here.
Mishloach Manot
Please watch your emails for mishloach manot pick up times every day next week beginning Sunday, March 9th from 10:00 AM- Noon. Also watch for our sign-up sheet to volunteer for a lobby distribution shift- a great chance to wish everyone a Happy Purim as you hand them their bag.
We thank all who supported Sisterhood’s Purim Project and those who donated to Neve Hanna, the Masorti children’s village in Israel.
Pre-Shabbat Seudah (festive meal)
This year CSAIR will not be hosting a pre-shabbat meal, but we encourage you to have one with family or friends.
You can also make both donations in person at Purim services. In addition, there will be a place to donate for Maot Hittim, which helps people in need here and in Israel celebrate Passover. Proceeds also provide scholarships to educational Jewish Summer Camps and Israel programs through our Passport to Jewish Education Program. There will be many opportunities in the coming weeks to donate online before Passover as well.
CSAIR FIGHTS HUNGER 2024 PURIM FOOD DRIVE
Wednesday, March 20 (Evening Minyan) thru Monday, March 25th (Morning Minyan)
In recognition of Purim 5784, and in the spirit of participating together to share food with hungry members of our community, CSAIR Fights Hunger invites you to join in a Purim food drive.
Our food drive will support the Manhattan College Parkway (formerly 242nd Street) Friendly Fridge. The
Friendly Fridge began operating in May 2020, helping to meet a critical need for supplemental food access.
This need has not diminished, and the Friendly Fridge remains an essential resource for those who struggle
with food insecurity.
Details on how you can help with the food drive are available HERE.
CSAIR Fights Hunger thanks you for your support!
