Sunday, April 7, 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Interactive, informal, and sensory/autism-friendly!

An interactive, informal, and lively exploration of selections of great chamber music -- Beethoven and more -- with experienced musicians who love working with kids. Designed for ages 5 and up and will also be enjoyed by younger children who are particularly drawn to music. We welcome all families!

Stay tuned for news of our 2019-2020 season!

Sheila ReinholdA Note from the Music Director

Thank you to all our audience members and community sponsors for a wonderful tenth anniversary season! We have so enjoyed celebrating this milestone with you and sharing great music with you in our three-concert series at our home venue, the lovely sanctuary of CSAIR in Riverdale. Click here to see more of what we have done these past years.

And we are now rounding out the season at CSAIR with our annual free sensory/autism-friendly Family Program on Sunday April 7 from 2:00-3:00 pm. Violist Dov Scheindlin and cellist Raman Ramakrishnan will join me to explore some great selections of chamber music in the comfortable Taub Room at CSAIR, which offers an intimate space with room for kids to experience the music in a variety of ways, sitting up close to the players or with their families, and moving freely to the music as they wish, in a sensory-friendly environment that encourages inclusion of all families. The program is designed for ages 5 and up, but younger children who are drawn to music will enjoy it, as will adults. This has been a wonderful program in past seasons. Please help us spread the word to all families who would love to enjoy music in this comfortable and inclusive environment.

And we will be completing this season's visits to nursing homes, the VA, and a special-needs preschool in our neighborhood. Your strong support is enabling us to maintain this expanded roster of Community Outreach events. A special note of gratitude is due to our Corporate Community Partner, NewYork-Presbyterian/ Allen Hospital. Their generous support and recognition for a fourth year have been vital to our ability to maintain the quality of our concerts as well as our commitment to Community Outreach. For information on how to become a Friend of Intimate Voices, or to donate, please click here.

As we plan our next season, please continue to write us at with any program or event suggestions -- we love hearing from you! And we are continuing to look for ways (and means) to maintain and expand our programs, so please send us any ideas about this as well.

Check back in early summer for the announcement of dates for the 2019-2020 season.

We are looking forward to sharing music with you again!

- Sheila Reinhold

Support Music for Kids and in the Community

When you subscribe to the 3-concert season series, please consider our Music-for-the-Community Package. We believe exposing children to the beauty and excitement of chamber music can inspire their participation in and enjoyment of music-making of all kinds for years to come. Our programs reach out to include all children and families, including those with special needs, through our free sensory/autism-friendly Family Program and our visits to an area special-needs preschool. In addition, we plan to continue our efforts to bring music to our neighbors in nursing and rehab facilities who are not able to come to our home at CSAIR, visiting the James J. Peters VA Medical Center as well as several area nursing homes. But to make these community-building programs possible and available for all, we need your help.

Music-for-the-Community Package
$120: includes 1 subscription to our 3-concert season series, plus a $50 donation (tax-deductible to extent permissible by law) to help underwrite the Community Outreach Programs bringing music to area rehab and nursing facilities, and also featuring our free sensory/autism-friendly Family Program and concerts for special-needs preschoolers.
