HAPPENINGS

CSAIR Membership

Membership 5778Shalom!

We are excited to invite you to join us for a new year of inspiring services and engaging programming at CSAIR. To this end, we'd like to share with you a change in the typical membership fee structure.

In an effort to become a more inclusive and egalitarian community, we are separating membership dues from High Holiday seating. Beginning this year, all High Holiday seats, regardless of their location, will cost the same. We are doing this because we realized that the old system of different prices for different seats does not express our deepest values as a congregation.

Calling All Calendars!
We are deep in calendar planning for the 2017-2018 year ahead. Please send Jennifer Knobe your list of meeting and event request dates for events planned for July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. The goal is to centralize programming and meetings during the week and focus on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings. ALL program events should be sent via email to ExecutiveDirector@csair.org by June 26th.

Make A Minyan, Make A Difference!
Morning and Evening Minyans could benefit from your presence. Please join us especially Monday mornings at 7am and Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm for our daily minyanim. Sometimes life intervenes and the minyan falls short. If you can commit to once a week or once a month, you give a substantial good to your synagogue and your neighbors. Please attend morning/evening minyans.

ADULT JEWISH EDUCATION

Judaism in American Cinema:
Tony Curtis, The Bad News Bears, and Me

Join the Men's Club after minyan at 8:00pm on Thursday, June 22nd for a very special free lecture by Rabbi Abraham Unger, published author, Ph.D. in political science and tenured associate professor at Wagner College. Rabbi Unger will speak about Judaism in American cinema and his personal experiences as an actor in several Hollywood feature films (including The Bad News Bears Go To Japan, where he shared the screen with another famous Jewish thespian - Bernie Schwartz - aka Tony Curtis!). Open to all, light refreshments served.

FAMILIES - KIDS & TEENS

Teen Volunteers Needed
CSAIR is looking for teen volunteers to help lead Shabbat morning activities for 8-11 year-old kids. Have a special interest or talent? Let's figure out how to make it into a Shabbat chug for kids. Email Mason Voit for more information.
